Politiek engagement vandaag (NL)

Almost half the human population will go to the polls in 2024, including millions of Belgians. The issues at stake in the election year also seem to determine many global questions: from the position of the far right to climate issues and racial justice. So politics seems to be back at the centre of society, but in a way that is hard to compare with the enduring ties of the 20th century. In this afternoon lecture, Anton Jäger outlines the challenges of political engagement in the 21st century.

Anton Jäger (KU Leuven) is a Belgian historian, philosopher, political scientist and publicist. His research focuses on the impact of capitalism on political thought and action, in particular on democracy, distribution and representation.
