#5. FILMER BXL QUI CHANGE – ‘NUIT & JOUR à St. Géry’

Bʀᴜssᴇʟs Aᴄᴀᴅᴇᴍʏ and Cᴇɴᴛʀᴇ Vɪᴅᴇᴏ ᴅᴇ Bʀᴜxᴇʟʟᴇs are pleased to invite you to a monthly film conference entitled “Fɪʟᴍᴇʀ Bʀᴜxᴇʟʟᴇs ǫᴜɪ ᴄʜᴀɴɢᴇ”.

Once a month, from January to June 2022, we present one of the films in the series Ateliers Urbains, a collection of 19 participatory and collective opuses that give the people of Brussels the opportunity to express themselves on their city.
From the transformation of Place Flagey in 2011 to the destruction of Avenue de Stalingrad for the future metro line 3 in 2021, this documentary series tells the story of the evolution of a capital city, in its links between urban planning/political choices from above and spatial justice experienced below. It also raises the question of the future of participatory and collective mechanisms such as the Urban Workshops, which allow everyone to criticize and think about their living space.

「 In warm venues chosen according to their location in the territory of the film presented, the film is followed by a debate between two guests among whom architects, urban planners, directors-participants, researchers, cultural mediators, experts in citizen participation, inhabitants of Brussels, etc .
They will address themes such as affordable housing, gentrification following urban renewal, cohabitation in a mix of uses and functions, inclusive public space, etc. The more informal dialogue can continue afterwards. 」
