Visit CALICO & MAXIMA (FR/NL)

CALICO, CAre and LIving in COmmunity, is a co-housing project in Forest, offering a generational and social mix in interaction with the neighbourhood. The building’s 34 homes are divided between four partners: Community Land Trust Brussels (CLTB), Angela.D, Pass-ages and the CPAS of Forest. The building and the garden are located on community land, owned by the CLTB Public Utility Foundation and managed as a ‘ common ’.

MAXIMA  is a temporary occupation in a former business complex in Forest managed by the non-profit organisation Communa. It is a place that houses some 70 projects including a group accommodation for women, shared office spaces, studios for artists and crafts. At Maxima, new ways of living and working together are being experimented with. Particular attention is paid to making the place accessible to all and managing it as a ‘common’.
