Geen vuiltje aan de lucht?
Sharpen your brain in the afternoon with hot topics and a hot bowl of (vegetarian) soup. Engaging speakers dissect topical issues with a Brussels angle.
Brussels air quality, residents don’t turn a blind eye. In 2021, BRAL investigated global air quality with ‘CurieuzenAir’. Then, for a year, ‘ExpAIR’ carried out measurements at the 24 most polluted places in the city. Local measurement campaigns were also set up with citizens. Together with them, the impact of changes in public spaces was measured. The result is a clear picture of current air quality in Brussels. Join us during this talk on citizen science and air quality, and find out why it is so important for our health.
••• Zoë Jacquet & Eva Forceville from BRAL •••
The speakers for the day are Zoë and Eva from BRAL, an urban movement working for a sustainable Brussels. Zoë is ExpAIR’s project officer and manages the measurements of the secondary network. She highlights the ambassadors who have adopted a measurement point through engagement in a participatory process.
Eva brings people together in air quality workshops for ExpAIR. She ensures that BRAL invests in more local networks in addition to its large secondary network. In these, citizens can decide where and when air quality is measured in their neighbourhood.
