Engaging speakers analyze current issues from a Brussels perspective. Complex topics are explained in an accessible way. Afterwards, there is time for questions and reflections from the audience.

Believing in Brussels

Brussels is a super-diverse city with nearly 200 different nationalities and, therefore, a great variety of religions. The challenge is to see how all these beliefs can coexist and what they can learn from one another. How can religion be a dynamic force in the city? Discover this during a panel discussion led by Pieter van der Hoeven, coordinator of Emoena Belgium, a program for professionals who frequently deal with religious diversity and want to strengthen their leadership skills.

• Bianca Debaets: As Secretary of State, she helped lay the foundations for the interfaith platform Hoopvol Brussel.
• Tim Brys: Affiliated with the Artificial Intelligence Lab at VUB, freelance writer, and co-founder of Stadsklooster Brussel. In March, he will publish his book How to Create an Urban Monastery?.
• Naïma Lafrarchi: Lawyer and education specialist. Among her many publications is Does Religion Make a Difference? (ACCO). She has spent years working both in the spotlight and behind the scenes to foster dialogue and connection in a super-diverse society.

Everyone is welcome from 12:15 PM for a bowl of vegetarian soup, in collaboration with Atelier Groot Eiland.

The talk starts at 12:30 PM.

There will be time for audience questions afterward.
