#1. Valerie Trouet over de geschiedenis van ons klimaat
Valerie Trouet (Climate Centre) talks about trees and people. They tell us all about the history (and future) of our climate through their growth rings. Trouet wrote the book ‘What trees tell us’ (originally: ‘Tree Story’) about it. She describes the world’s oldest trees and annual ring research at archaeological sites. She makes amazing connections between Pharaohs and volcanoes and discusses timber use, deforestation and climate change from more than 10 000 years ago to the present. ‘What trees tell us’ has been translated into seven languages and won the Jan Wolkers Prize (2020).
