STADS LABO URBAIN : TEACHERS

Teachers in the city are confronted with different challenges than those in rural areas. That is why academic circles have worked to create a class on “urban education”, to train future teachers as well as people already working in schools as part of their continuing education. In this seminar, we will discuss these ideas in terms of practical experiences. Prof. Dr. Dirk Jacobs (sociologist GERME/ULB) will introduce the topic, and a group discussion on the position and role of teachers in the city will follow. The debate is directed both at actors on the ground as well as at those who want to reflect on the future of teaching in Brussels.
