AI als nieuwe stedelijke actor: naar een versterkte democratie in Brussel? (FR/NL)
WORKSHOP
Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly important role in how cities are shaped and how citizens engage with public decision-making. But what does this mean in practice for local democracy in Brussels?
This interactive workshop brings together public authorities, policymakers, civil society organisations and field professionals to explore these questions. Together, we will examine how AI can contribute to:
improved information flows
stronger public decision-making
greater citizen engagement in urban choices
This session will be opened by Prof. Giulia Sandri (ULB), expert in AI regulation. Beyond identifying key challenges, the workshop will focus on collective ideation. Starting from your own professional experience, you will be invited to co-develop concrete AI applications that can strengthen both your work and local democracy in Brussels.
Who is it for?
Urban planning and city development professionals
Staff working in Brussels public administrations (regional or municipal)
Members of social, cultural or civic organisations
Engaged citizens interested in urban democracy
