#3. Rethinking Brussels
“No going back to normal”
For more than a year, our urban life was in suspended animation. Because of the pandemic, we were forced to desert spaces in the city, such as theatres, cinemas, concert halls, restaurants, museums, squares and streets, usually so conducive to meeting, exchange and sharing.
The cultural sector has suffered in particular from these measures, while the crisis has exacerbated some of its flaws, including social inequalities, the precariousness of artists, the scarce image of diversity, and the dominance of programming considerations and repertoires.
On 21 June, Brussels Academy, Fox in the City, Bozar and RAB-BKO invite researchers, artists, experts, associations and cultural institutions to debate the opportunities opened up by the health crisis and to reinvent together the connections that unite the arts and culture in Brussels.
With: Karel Vanhaesebrouck (ULB), Aurélie Di Marino (K.A.K.), Sophie Lauwers (BOZAR), Mohamed Ouachen (Diversité sur Scène), David Murgia (comédien)
